Rare tea box (or lidded box) made of 925 sterling silver.
Shaped like a pinecone.
The interior is also made of silver-plated metal, characteristic of silverware intended for food use.
The relief-carved decoration, consisting of twisted ribs, is typical of Italian design from the 1960s and 1970s and evokes the work of designers such as Mauro Manetti, though attribution cannot be confirmed, as the hallmark is different.
