A magnificent and rare orchestra featuring 19 Meissen porcelain monkeys (Affenkapelle), a German piece dating from around 1890.
The set includes: 1 conductor and 18 statues of monkey musicians (19 pieces in total) on terraces highlighted by rocaille relief ornamentation, enhanced with gold and polychrome decoration, marked with crossed swords in blue.
Model based on Johan Joachim Kaendler.
Height of the figurines: 13 and 17 cm for the conductor.
The set is in good condition; a few minor imperfections.
