Rare Art Nouveau Vase With Engraved, Enameled, And Iridescent Decoration By Vallerysthal, Circa 1895, Galle Era

A superb Art Nouveau vase with a rich chestnut tree motif by the Verrerie de Vallerysthal.

This beautiful, richly decorated vase bears a lovely and very rare signature, featuring a multitude of glassworking techniques that attest to its quality and exceptional finesse. The botanical design is set against a burgundy-red background, acid-etched with touches of enamel and a beautiful iridescence in places, reminiscent of fluogravure. This illustrious glassworks produced pieces of the highest quality under the direction of and under contract with Désiré Christian. This high-caliber production continued despite Gallé’s departure—he later opened his own kilns in Nancy... The photos speak for themselves... a museum-quality piece.

In very good condition, nothing to complain about; even the gold highlights are clearly visible. 16 cm tall, 13 cm in diameter, signed on the underside of the base (difficult to photograph). This piece can be dated to between 1895 and 1898.
