Antique “lazy Susan” Rotating Centerpiece Made Of Sheffield Plate, Circa 1920–1940
A striking rotating centerpiece known as a “Lazy Susan,” made of silver-plated metal—more specifically, Sheffield plate: the silver plating, which is partially worn away, reveals the underlying copper in some places, a characteristic typical of Sheffield plate.
The set consists of: a large circular rotating tray with two original Bakelite handles, a slightly raised central soup tureen, three vegetable bowls, and two small jugs, all arranged around the perimeter.
The lids are adorned with embossed knobs, while the bodies feature a simple decoration typical of English production from the early decades of the 20th century.
Condition: This set has likely been used over time. The silver plating shows oxidation and visible wear on the raised parts. There are some superficial scratches, but no dents or structural damage to report; the set remains solid and, all in all, fairly well-preserved.
