Round barrel, rifled; with front sight and flat rear sight; marked on the top: WINCHESTER'S-REPEATING ARMS NEW HAVEN CT KING'S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED 20 MARCH 1866 OCTOBER 16 1860.
Silver-plated bronze breechblock, engraved with scrollwork on both sides, and bearing the saddle ring on the left side; breechblock tail numbered 134462 within an engraved banner.
Iron fittings; silver-plated bronze butt plate with a hinged cover, engraved to match.
Varnished walnut stock. Stock guard missing.
Good overall condition. Beautiful patina on the wood. 90% of the original silver plating remains.
