A beautiful pair of “Trèfle” stools, designed by Marcel Gascoin, a leading figure in French post-war furniture design. Produced by Arhec (Aménagement Rationnel de l’Habitation et des Collectivités), circa 1950.

The seat, made of solid oak, consists of two symmetrical elements with rounded contours evoking the shape of a clover—the iconic signature of this model. It rests on a four-legged base with tapered legs, which is both stable and elegant. The wood has a beautiful, warm patina, typical of the rational and organic spirit of 1950s design.

An iconic piece of postwar reconstruction furniture, these stools can be used alone or in pairs as occasional seating, end tables, or nightstands.
