19th-century Lamp Made Of Repoussé Brass With Oriental Motifs
An elegant and unique antique kerosene lamp featuring a design depicting the discovery of America. The cylindrical central shaft, made of repoussé brass, is adorned all around its circumference with a design featuring ships, palm trees, and local figures. It also depicts Christopher Columbus brandishing a flag and a sword, accompanied by his soldiers. Below is the inscription “Discovery of America—Christopher Columbus.” The top of the lamp consists of its original reservoir, topped by a burgundy-colored lampshade. The electrical wiring has been completely redone; it is a high-quality piece in excellent condition, featuring original and exquisitely detailed decoration—a beautiful decorative lamp with a historical theme.
