19th-century German Drop-action Rifle.

Beautiful German drop-action rifle in 8mm caliber (barrel muzzle diameter 8mm). Octagonal barrel marked on the underside. Adjustable rear sight on a long rail and adjustable, swiveling front sight. The bolt carrier is richly engraved with a floral design and a medallion featuring the bust of a hunter on both sides. It features a finger rest on the trigger guard, a notched butt plate, dual triggers, and a bolt handle with a hole for attaching a diopter sight. Beautiful walnut stock with checkering, featuring a wide left-side cheek piece and a right-side thumb rest. Functional mechanism; very fine craftsmanship in remarkably fresh condition. German target rifle made in the late 19th century, circa the 1870s–1880s. Please note that the diopter is missing. Total length 1.17 cm, weight 5.2 kg.
