Napoleon III-era Display Cabinet (louis XV Style)
A stunning, curved display case with all sides finished in precious wood veneer, featuring a large glass door. The interior is lined with a red/burgundy moiré fabric, ideal for displaying collectibles.
Ornamentation: Rich trim of gilded and chiseled bronze (ingot molds, foliage motifs, clogs, and an upper frieze animated by putti).
Marquetry: The base is decorated with a central medallion of fine marquetry depicting a romantic scene, framed by a geometric lattice frieze that is repeated on the sides.
Base: Four curved legs accented with bronze fittings.
Top: Magnificent molded and scalloped marble, perfectly following the sinuous lines of the piece.
An elegant and luminous parlor piece, characteristic of the fine cabinetmaking of the second half of the 19th century.
