Vase By Paul Nicolas, "gooseberries" (d'argental), Nancy School
Artist: Paul Nicolas (1875-1952)
A very beautiful and rare multilayered glass vase by Paul Nicolas d'Argental, acid-etched with red gooseberries.
It has an inverted ovoid shape with a high shoulder (or obconical shape) that tapers toward the base and is topped by a short, straight neck.
Wheel-turned to highlight the veins of the leaves and the veins of the fruit.
In a delicate ruby red, this rare vase is full of charm with its cascading design.
Cameo signature: D’argental ☨
Tiny chip at the base, barely visible
