Small Italian-made Mirror, Lacquered Wood, Late 18th Century
Small Italian mirror with a lacquered wooden frame hand-painted with floral motifs, made in the late 18th century.
The frame, characterized by its simple and elegant design, is enriched with hand-painted polychrome floral decoration and crowned by a finely shaped crest at the top, also decorated with floral motifs.
The reverse retains its original hanging cord for wall mounting.
The original mirror plate displays widespread oxidation and the typical spotting caused by the natural aging of the silvered surface. These features are consistent with its age and attest to its authenticity.
The mirror is accompanied by the original cataloguing record issued by the “C’era una Volta” Antique Art Gallery in Vicenza, dated 29 January 1968, which includes a description and the dimensions of the piece.
