Pair Of Art Deco Bookends With Frog Motifs By Frécourt, Era Daum Marionnet, 1920
Artist: Maurice Frécourt (1890-1961)
A lovely and rare pair of bookends decorated with frogs by Maurice Frécourt.
This lovely piece captures all the charm of Art Deco, featuring two frogs about to leap over water lilies. They are highly stylized with large, bulging eyes and are very decorative.
Each piece rests on a period Portor marble base in perfect condition.
11 cm tall, with the base measuring 12 cm by 8 cm; signed “FRECOURT,” circa 1925.
Note a slight dent on the back of one of the frogs.
A very beautiful Art Deco piece, quite rare.
