The refinedmirror, made in Piedmont, Italy, towards the beginning of the nineteenthcentury, has an elegant frame in finely carved and gilded wood. In the upperpart is inserted a painted canvas, oval in shape, with a carved and gildedwooden frame from which depart, crossed between them, two branches made ofgilded wood. The portion of the upper frame of the entire mirror has a carveddecoration with a central element with a composition of flowers and plantornaments from which develop ribbons and two symmetrical festoons composed oflanceolate leaves and flowers. The frame ends with low relief decoration withovules.The canvas,work of Piedmontese artist, is painted in oil and depicts a young boy belongingto a noble family, richly dressed according to the fashion of the lateeighteenth centuryIn goodstate of preservation, there are some small breaks and shortcomings. There isalso a lack of a part of the ribbon that adorns the upper part of theframe. Thismirror, of beautiful size and excellent proportions, can be exposed both over achest of drawers as a mirror trumeau over a console or a fireplace. Due to itsheight, it is also suitable to be placed on the wall resting on the ground orslightly suspended
