An important set consisting of a water pitcher and the basin in solid silver. Partially made of vermeil. Decorated with four medallions featuring Roman busts. The handle is decorated with a winged female figure. Such figures often represent celestial beings or concepts of victory. Augsburg hallmark = 1725–1730. Image of the date nr. 193 in the book, Seling Augsburger gold und silberschmiede. Silversmith’s mark of Johann Ignaz Saler. Weight: 1,500 g. The basin measures 41 cm long, 32.5 cm wide, and 3.5 cm high. The ewer is 21.5 cm high and 16.5 cm long including the handle. In good overall condition.
