Gabriel Deschamps studied at the Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1939 and 1940, and subsequently in Narbonne from 1942 to 1946.
A regular exhibitor and member of the Salon de Paris, he primarily painted landscapes of the South of France and the Mediterranean coast, while also organizing numerous exhibitions in Paris, Algiers, Oran, and Casablanca.
For many years, he served as a tenured art teacher within the French national education system.
