Oil on canvas depicting a view of the quays in Paris, by Louis-Félix Claudel, a painter, engraver, and illustrator born in La Verrerie de Portieux in 1895 and who died in Arcueil in 1948.
Signed lower right.
Good overall condition ; note small areas of paint loss at the top of the canvas and a small loss on the right side in the sky area. Carved wood Montparnasse-style frame.

Louis-Félix Claudel began the arduous trade of glassmaking at a very young age, soon becoming a glass engraver at the Portieux factory.
In 1925, his work was awarded a gold medal at the Exposition des Arts Décoratifs. He subsequently created advertising designs, notably for major perfume companies, before turning to illustration for books and literary magazines.
In 1931, he exhibited at the Fine Arts Pavilion of the Colonial Exhibition.
His works were shown at numerous salons, including the Salon des Artistes Français, the Salon des Tuileries, and the Salon des Indépendants.
