Exquisite Russian Oriental-style kinjal, crafted in the Russian Empire in the late 19th century. This piece combines the characteristic form of the Caucasian and Oriental dagger with refined Russian silver mountings.

The dagger features a broad, double-edged steel blade and a dark handle, likely made of wood or horn, adorned with decorative metal studs. Its compact and powerful form evokes the traditional kindjal style, while the silver-mounted scabbard lends the object a decorative and prestigious character.

The scabbard, sheathed in black leather, is fitted with silver mountings richly decorated with engraved floral motifs, niello-style details, and gilded accents. A gilded suspension strap with geometric decoration adds a particularly elegant touch to the ensemble.

The silver mountings bear St. Petersburg hallmarks, confirming that they are examples of Imperial Russian silversmithing.
