Large baluster vase in Chinese porcelain, yellow family (yellow background type “Canton” or “Guangcai”)
Decor: bright yellow background with patterns of peonies, chrysanthemums, peaches (symbol of longevity) and stylized foliage on the collar and shoulder; large white reserves in the shape of a medallion on the body representing garden scenes with birds (magpies, herons, wading birds), lotus flowers, pierced rocks (“Taihu” rocks) and peonies
Stylized side handles in the shape of a dragon or ruyi motif, in brown/rust enameled biscuit (one glued back)
Handwritten mark in ink under the base: partially legible inscription mentioning “KIUKIANG” (Jiujiang, Chinese port city), probably an export or old collection label
The style, palette (imperial yellow, domed “famille rose” pink, emerald green) and construction correspond well to Canton (Guangzhou) production intended for the export market or wealthy Chinese customers of the 19th century.
