An 18th-century Drawing, *the Queen's Grove*. Reproduced In A Book By P. De
A rare document: a black-chalk drawing depicting a plan of the “LABYRINTH” at Versailles, identified on the reverse by a handwritten note as a view of the Queen’s Grove, 18th century, on laid paper. This drawing was reproduced in a book by the famous historian and curator of Versailles, Pierre de Nolhac, whose works are still considered authoritative today.
A few minor tears along the edges of the drawing, the paper of which has been sun-faded. Early 20th-century mounting board, secured with a strip of gilded paper.
France, 18th century.
A very touching document.
