Gyokusendo, founded in 1816, is the only workshop in Tsubame, Niigata Prefecture—a city renowned for its local metalworking industry—to continue the traditional “tsuiki-doki” technique (hammered copper craftsmanship). This process involves hammering a single sheet of copper to create copper objects. The workshop’s ability to apply a variety of colors to copper is a technique unique in the world.
It produces copper objects of the highest quality and has customers all over the world.
