Louis XVI Style Salon Suite, Late 19th Century
Part of a salon suite in moulded, carved and formerly lacquered wood, composed of two medallion armchairs and a large bench.
The structure is finely decorated with fluting, scrolls and carved floral motifs on the connecting blocks. The armchairs feature oval medallion backs, shaped armrests and fluted legs, in the neoclassical taste typical of the Louis XVI style.
The suite is upholstered in a lampas-style woven fabric, decorated with floral and ribbon motifs in beige, blue, green and yellow tones.
The gilding is worn, as shown in the photographs, with traces of the former lacquer and normal signs of use. Used condition, with small losses and wear consistent with age.
