A Louis XIV-style fireplace made of Levanto Rosso marble (Liguria, Italy), carved in the mid-19th century, in perfect condition, complete with its original brass hearth surround and floor slab. The arch of its lintel features two shaped panels at its ends, and a generous, framed torus accentuates the perimeter of its firebox. This marble—or more precisely, this brecciated serpentine rock—has been quarried since the 12th century for prestigious projects.
