Cast-iron Insert For A Marble Fireplace
A cast-iron fireplace insert for a marble hearth, dating from the 19th century, in perfect condition, Regency style, adorned with a checkered background featuring small flowers and acanthus leaves at the corners, a chapel-shaped recess houses an acanthus bud flanked by foliage in the center of its band, and within a medallion, a vase of flowers supports a garland fastened to its side posts. A second original insert, featuring a stylized flower-patterned grid, allows it to fit a smaller fireplace.
Its exterior dimensions are 131 cm wide by 80 cm high, with a firebox measuring 79 cm wide by 52.5 cm high; when the second insert is installed, the firebox measures 55 cm wide by 41.5 cm high.
