Merio Ameglio was born in Italy (in San Remo) and grew up on the Côte d’Azur before moving to Paris to join the major movement of the École de Paris. 
In 1938, he settled permanently in Montmartre, a place that instantly captured his heart. He would spend the rest of his life there, rubbing shoulders with the artistic avant-garde of the hill.
Although he painted seascapes on the Côte d’Azur and views of Venice, Paris—and Montmartre in particular—remain his most iconic subject and the most sought-after on the market.
His views of the Sacré-Cœur, the Place du Tertre, and the steep streets bustling with people embody the very essence of Parisian romanticismPassionate about painting from a very young age.
Merio was associated with avant-garde artists such as Jacques Villon, Van Dongen, and Pablo Picasso, from whom he learned their techniques and methods.   
Merio Ameglio was an active member of the Paris Salon, regularly participating in its exhibitions.
Hegained recognition at the 1938 Salon de Paris exhibition, when his oil painting titled *Cathédrale de Rouen* earned him an honorable mention.  
Mério Améglio is a well-established artist on the global art market, and his works are represented in numerous museums and private collections around the world.
