A charming little oval-shaped collector's box, perfect for adorning a dressing table or display case, or for use as a jewelry box.
The lid, finely guilloché-engraved and decorated with ornamental relief motifs in the Rocaille/Baroque style, features a magnificent oval medallion in the center made of painted enamel (or porcelain). This miniature portrait depicts an elegant young woman in profile with red hair, wearing a red headdress embellished with gold motifs and green braid. A signature or monogram is visible to the right of the profile.
The exterior of the box is richly decorated with a relief frieze of garlands of flowers and foliage.
