Travel Box, Martin Carmine Red Varnish, Gold Decor, Circa 1750.
Rare beautiful travel box, with beautiful storage proportions, from the Louis XV period around 1750, in carmine red Martin varnished lacquered wood with Asian gold decorations. On each side a brass handle allows the box to be easily transported. The interior bottom is decorated with a faux marble appearance, the black colored underside is in perfect condition without any cracks. The brass surrounds on the lock side and around the two hinges are missing. Rare box of good quality in good condition.
