Marc Verstockt (Lokeren, 1930 – Antwerp, 2014) was a sculptor, graphic artist, and painter. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp alongside Dan Van Severen. They became adherents of Constructivism. He specialized in abstraction and the study of geometric forms.

Marc Verstockt created sculptures, the best known of which is the monumental sculpture “Signal” in Sint-Niklaas. He developed an interest invideo and printmaking. In 1971, he published his “This is not a book.” As a theorist, Verstockt gained fame with “The Genesis of Form, from Chaos to Geometry,” an in-depth study of the three primary forms: the circle, the square, and the triangle.
