Gold Snuffbox Made By Christian-chrétien Petschler In Paris Around 1819–1838
A yellow gold snuffbox, rectangular in shape with beveled corners.
The hinged lid is adorned with a lattice pattern, framed by a blue enamel border.
This frame is embellished across its width with a vase of flowers and along its length with an alternating pattern of flowers and leafy buds. The beveled corners are decorated with leaves.
Vertical diamond-shaped silversmith’s hallmark bearing the initials “C” and “P” separated by a space, the mark of Christian Chrétien Petschler.
Presented in a green leather case with a beige velvet interior and the collector’s initials.
Condition: Excellent condition.
Note: Christian-Chrétien Petschler was active as a goldsmith and jeweler in Paris between 1814 and 1838.
Provenance: formerly part of an important European private collection.
