Louis XV Sideboard In Walnut
A charming low sideboard from the Louis XV period, dating from the 18th century. The front features two waist drawers adorned with their original iron lock plates and pull knobs, above two molded doors with elegant scalloped panels. The doors are fitted with their original long iron lock plates, also known as lacing plates.
The frame around the doors is made of oak; this technique was used to provide rigidity to the entire sideboard.
The side posts are embellished with fluted panels featuring raised sections. The lower crossbar, richly carved with a foliage motif, rests on curved legs characteristic of the Louis XV period.
The top features a beautiful antique patina, and the piece as a whole has a warm honey hue that highlights the walnut grain.
This piece has retained all its character with its antique hardware and original patina. It will naturally find its place in a historic home as well as in a contemporary interior seeking an authentic piece.
