TheCarazetti hat factory was founded between 1912 and 1913 by a Genevan of Italian origin, Emmanuel Carazetti.
From the 1910s to the 1940s, he established a hat factory in Bellegarde
. Like other compatriots,he sought to break into the French market and take advantage of hydroelectric power for his sewing machines. The subsidiary was initially housed in an annex to the Dumont factory on the banks of the Valserine River. After World War I, it broke away from the Swiss parent company and became the Société Anonyme des Anciens Etablissements Carazetti.
Beautiful beaver fur hat, leather-lined interior, with a box produced in the 1920s/1929 but not original. Both are in excellent condition.
