Emmanuel Cavacos was born in Potamos, on the island of Kythira. He emigrated to the United States at the age of sixteen and settled in Baltimore.
In 1911, a scholarship established by the sculptor Rinehart enabled him to attend the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1913, he was noticed at the Salon des Artistes Français and became a portrait artist for the magazine scene (Mistinguett, etc.)—he won an award at the 1925 Exposition des Arts Décoratifs. After 1930, little is known about his career.
