Antique table or mantel clock, Louis-Philippe Restoration period, in finely chased gilded bronze

The clock is topped by a superb sculpture depicting Cupid, the God of Love, seated with a finger to his lips, commanding silence (the theme of “Silent Love”); his feet are resting, his attributes include an overturned quiver filled with arrows, and he holds his bow in his left hand.
White enamel dial in good condition, Roman numerals for the hours, original finely crafted and gilded hands
Original Parisian movement
Base adorned with friezes of laurel leaves and geometric motifs in relief, resting on four spindle-shaped feet.
Very beautiful original gilding with a magnificent period patina; a few slight traces of natural verdigris at the base, a mark of authenticity. Sold as-is; mechanism requires servicing; sold without the bell, pendulum, and key.
