Pair of gilded bronze fireplace andirons, late 19th-century Louis XVI style
A magnificent pair of late 19th-century period fireplace andirons, very finely chased and gilded in the Louis XVI style.
Each piece is topped by a covered urn decorated with garlands resting on an arched balustrade with square balusters. The base is adorned with a rich lion-headed mascaron, and the second upright is topped with a pinecone.
The andirons are sold complete with their wrought-iron bars at the back to support the firewood.
