We present this small Orientalist work on panel by the well-known and acclaimed painter Georges BALLOT, born in 1866 and died in 1942.
In 1905 and 1906, he traveled to Algeria; upon his return, he exhibited at the Salon des Peintres Orientalistes, where his painting “The Mosque” of Bou-Saada was purchased by the French government. This more modest piece captures the extraordinary atmosphere of the desert. In very good condition.
