Artist: Maxime Noiré (1861-1927)
Maxime Noiré was born in 1861 in Moselle and died in Algiers in 1927. He settled in Algiers in 1882, and through his enthusiasm and talent, became the great landscape painter of his adopted land. He painted the Algerian South, from the desert to Boussada or Biskra in the Aurès Mountains. Founder of the Society of Algerian and Orientalist Artists in 1897, he championed the establishment of the Villa Abdel Tif. This painting was created in Bizerte, Tunisia, in 1890. And as you can see in the photo, there is a small tear on this third example of (Orientalist Paintings).
