Renaissance-style Pewter Carafe And Four Glasses
Renaissance-style decanter and four glasses made of pewter and green glass. The decanter is richly decorated with cornucopias, vine leaves, bunches of grapes, a medallion depicting Bacchus, and the inscription "In Vino veritas";satyr heads, vine leaves, and bunches of grapes on the glasses. Germany, circa 1880–1900; the carafe bears the label of the store that sold this set: “Gavere Mazure, succ., 63, rue Grand Pont, Rouen.”
