Sculptural Flemish Architectured Cabinet
A sculptural Flemish Renaissance-style cabinet, dating from the late 19th or very early 20th century, made of solid oak.
The architecturally designed front, resting on three turned ball feet, is punctuated by fluted columns topped with Corinthian capitals. The bases of the columns, the drawers, and the upper portions of the doors are richly carved with foliage, fruit, figures, mascarons, and caryatids. The central column, equipped with a sliding mechanism, conceals the keyhole.
The monumental overhanging cornice also features a frieze richly carved with foliage populated by birds, figures, and cherubs.
This cabinet, constructed of thick solid oak panels, can be completely disassembled.
