Iconic Antique "metaphysical" "dadaist" Boy Mannequin
Antique child-sized mannequin, frequently depicted by artists of the Metaphysical and Dadaist periods. Artists of these movements often used mannequins for their alienating and unsettling appearance. (see photo). This small-to-medium-sized mannequin is still in excellent condition, with a few small tears in the silk covering—as is common with these items—but they do not detract from the piece. Note the feet, which feature late 19th-century carved wooden shoes. Height: approximately 126 cm. Very decorative and an icon of its time.
