Tall, Two-section Glass-fronted Sideboard
An elegant two-part Louis XV-style sideboard crafted from walnut, featuring rich Rocaille-inspired carved decoration.
The lower section opens with two molded doors framed by scrolled stiles and topped by two drawers running the full width. The upper section serves as a display cabinet and bookcase, with glass doors featuring arched muntin bars that offer a clear view of the interior shelves. It is flanked by two small carved doors. The upper section is crowned by a large openwork pediment featuring scrollwork and a shell motif.
The piece rests on curved legs and is distinguished by the quality of its carvings: small flowers, shells, foliage, and dynamic motifs characteristic of the Louis XV style. The warm, light patina of the walnut highlights the wood’s grain and lends the piece great elegance.
A decorative and functional piece, ideal as a bookcase, china cabinet, or display cabinet in a classic or contemporary interior.
Exquisitely crafted French piece dating from the 1940s.
