Art Deco Dining Table - Circa 1930
Art Deco dining table, made around 1930, featuring a rectangular top with generously rounded corners and a sculptural central base. With its proportions, the quality of its materials, and the strength of its design, this table is a quintessential example of the prestigious furniture of the interwar period.
The rectangular tabletop features clean, controlled lines. It is veneered in Macassar ebony, a wood emblematic of high-end Art Deco furniture. The glossy, mirror-like finish is characteristic of high-quality pieces from this period. It is covered with a custom-made protective glass panel.
The table is designed to accommodate two extension leaves, thanks to two built-in slots at each end that are invisible in the standard configuration. This feature allows for increased seating capacity without disrupting the formal balance or the architectural harmony of the room.
The central base, a key element of the composition, consists of two monumental arches forming an inverted cradle. This structure, both powerful and rigorously proportioned, frees up floor space while ensuring remarkable stability.
The structure is accented with nickel-plated metal plates and elements, precisely integrated into the central junction and the base. These details emphasize the modernity of the design and create a subtle contrast with the dark wood.
The table has undergone a complete restoration, including the renewal of the glossy finishes and the polishing of the metal elements. It is in excellent condition, with the original materials and aesthetics preserved.
