Pair Of Art Deco Leather Club Chairs – Circa 1930
Pair of period Art Deco armchairs, circa 1930, fully restored and upholstered in orange-colored Hermès grained leather.
Their design combines two wide, straight armrests with a sweeping, half-moon-shaped backrest. The contrast between these geometric forms and the curve of the backrest gives the armchairs a distinctly architectural silhouette, characteristic of the Art Deco style.
The piping highlights the different forms, while the base and small exposed wooden legs provide structure to the lower section.
With their generous proportions and comfort-oriented design, these chairs follow in the tradition of the “comfortable armchair,” a concept that gradually became associated with the club chair during the 20th century—here interpreted in a resolutely Art Deco style.
