Paul Duboy, Bisque Statue "young Girl In A Ball Gown"
An 18th-century-style bisque porcelain figurine depicting a young woman in a ball gown, holding a mask and a fan. She wears an elegant Piedmontese-style gown with a train fastened at the waist, featuring a bodice richly adorned with lace and a full skirt. The sleeves are adorned with lace ruffles known as “engageantes.” A ruffled collar frames her neckline. The woman stands on a circular base decorated with alternating palmettes and fluting. Signed in low relief on the base: “PAUL DUBOY.” Marked on the reverse. 19th-century work.
The details of the bodice, the lace sleeves, and the hair are finely crafted.
