Pair Of Ginger Pots Made Of Chinese Porcelain From The Qing Dynasty
A pair of Chinese porcelain ginger pots, “Famille Rose,” late Qing Dynasty, second half of the 19th century. With a bulbous shape, they feature their original lids, topped with a lotus-bud-shaped knob. They are decorated with a continuous band of traditional narrative scenes featuring dignitaries, armed horsemen, banner bearers, and imperial parasols set amid stylized vegetation and rocks. They rest on wooden bases that were stained at a later date.
Good condition; one handle has been reattached and is slightly damaged on one of the lids, as visible in the photos.
