Early 19th Century Bronze Medallion With Medusa
Exquisite lost-wax cast bronze medallion. The medallion depicts a clearly classically inspired head of Medusa, framed by architectural, floral, and plant-like decorations. This fragment likely came from a tombstone, but it could be used both as a decorative object inside a home or as a fountain divider. This medallion exudes great taste and refinement, adding a touch of class and antiquity to any space. Tuscan manufacture, from the Directoire period, around the beginning of the 19th century.
