Art Deco Pressed-glass Vase "chrysanthemes Tokyo" By Pierre d'Avesn, Perfect, 1930, Era Daum

A beautiful and interesting Art Deco "Tokyo Chrysanthemums" vase by Pierre D'Avesn.

A renowned glassmaker of the Art Deco period, Pierre d'Avesn (whose real name was Pierre Girre), was a student of François Decorchement and spent 10 years at Lalique before working at Daum from 1930 to 1936 to develop a line of Art Deco vases made of pressed-molded glass. He subsequently joined the Verlys glassworks in 1937.

A lovely pressed-molded glass ball vase, featuring a beautiful design of stylized flowers with large leaves covering the entire vase. Very clean lines. This well-documented model is, however, rare in this pink and blue mottled color. With all the charm of the Art Deco period, it remains very modern; the flowers are slightly polished and contrast with the rest of the design, which retains its sandblasted texture.

15 cm in diameter and height, signature molded into the design beneath the base, perfect condition, circa 1930.
