The abundance of its carved decoration, in the tradition of Hugues Sambin’s style, undoubtedly makes it one of the most beautiful pieces of French Renaissance furniture preserved to this day. This cabinet is distinguished by the richness of its ornamentation and the remarkable finesse of its carvings.
Inspired by late 16th-century Burgundian models, it features carved decoration consisting of volutes, birds, baskets, garlands of fruit and flowers, palmettes, and satyr masks.
