Attributed Francois Linke A Unique Louis XVI Style Gilt-bronze Mounted Desk Set
Exceptional desk and bookcase set - Louis XV style, attributed to François Linke
Rare and sumptuous desk set comprising a flat desk and matching bookcase, in an elegant Louis XV style with Louis XV influences, attributed to François Linke (1855-1946), famous Parisian cabinetmaker. This set is based on a model by Jean-François Oeben, circa 1880.
Designed in precious woods such as kingwood, sycamore and satinwood, it is sublimated by a remarkable mosaic marquetry of great finesse. The desk and bookcase were conceived as a coherent whole and have remained together since their origin, reinforcing their rarity and value.
The gilt bronze mounts, of exceptional quality, testify to remarkable goldsmith craftsmanship, with richly chased and perfectly preserved details.
The set is presented in its entirely original condition, a guarantee of authenticity and quality.
An office chair accompanies this set; however, it is not original and is of a slightly later period, although it blends harmoniously into the ensemble.
A prestigious collector's piece, ideal for lovers of art and exceptional furniture.
