An English-style Tea Party Featuring A Child Portraying Mozart At The Palais Du Temple
Oil on canvas depicting an English-style tea party served in the Salon des Quatre Glaces at the Palais du Temple in Paris in 1764.
In this composition, we see the young Wolfgang Amadeus MOZART playing for identified dignitaries.
This painting is a replica of the original work (680 x 530 cm) painted by OLLIVIER Michel Barthélémy in 1764 (a student of Charles-André VAN LOO and his nephew).
Clara FOURNIER created a smaller version of it around the mid-19th century, likely for a private commission.
In 1856, she received a commission to create a copy of The Last Supper after Philippe de Champaigne for 1,200 francs.
