Round, smoothbore barrel, marked on top MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS. CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A. MODEL 1893 PAT. NOV. 25.1890. The caliber is also indicated: 12.
The side bears the inscription WINCHESTER MODEL 1893.
Blue-finished bolt carrier, numbered 8396.
Wooden stock with original varnish, known as a semi-pistol grip, steel butt plate. Checkered pump wood.
This shotgun is in very good condition. The interior of the barrel is in perfect condition. The blue finish is 70% intact on the receiver; the rest has a patina that has turned a tobacco color.
Mechanics in perfect condition, screw heads unmarked.
The Model 1893 is the first Winchester pump-action hunting shotgun, manufactured from 1893 to 1897.
