Original lacquered wooden box containing four Chinese commemorative silver coins dedicated to the Silk Road.
This official issue by the People's Bank of China was struck in Proof quality by the Shanghai Mint and distributed by the China Gold Coin Incorporation.
The reverse sides depict various aspects of Silk Road civilization: a merchant caravan, historical figures, a traditional weaving scene, and a dance inspired by the Dunhuang murals.
Each coin bears the national emblem of the People's Republic of China and the date 1995 on the obverse.
Preserved in their original capsules, the coins are presented in their original presentation case accompanied by numbered certificates of authenticity.
